can ya help me out here.. i can't even find what it is let alone do it.. between that problem and 16 hectograms +10 decigrams=____decigrams
i might go completly gray if i have any hair left after i pull it out.. please help me if you can show me how to do it so i can at least try and explain it
You have to understand the relationship between prefixes and convert everything to a common prefix. For the first problem, I'd use decigrams (1/10 of a gram)
Since milli = 0.001 and deci = 0.1, the 300 mg is 3 dg. Similarlym the 14 cg is 1.4 dg. Now they are all alike and you can add and subtract.
The second problem can be approached the same way. It is not much different than finding a common denominator so you can add and subtract fractions.
